Can be worn facing either way in the ear, most people wear the spike going backwards.

PVD Tribal Hook BKBCR01
This large guage bcr (ball closure ring) is cast in Surgical Steel then coated in matt black pvd.
Very cool and unusual item, unfortunately only available in two sizes. Removing and replacing the ball is easiest done with a pair of circlip plyers, although you may manage without.

Ear Stretching with Expanders People have different ways of stretching their ear lobes. My prefered method is to use an expander or crescent, and do it myself, slowly.
Choose an expander or crescent that is one or two millimeters above the size of your present hole. Dont be tempted to rush, and go up 2 or 3mm in one go, this increases the risk of infection, and produces scar tissue.
If you are starting from scratch, ie from a standard earring piercing, then you need to choose a very small expander... 1.6mm or 2mm if possible. Insert the expander as far as it will go, and then over the next few hours or days even, Gradually push the expander further in, until it reaches the widest part. You are then ready to insert your new jewellery. Always remember to soak your lobes in a salt water solution, during and after stretches. This greatly reduces the risk of infections and speeds up the healing process. |
