TLDR What this all means: Basically orders to the USA will have a duty charge calculated and applied at checkout. This means you will not have to pay customs charges at your end in the USA but items will be more expensive than they were before August 29th 2025
Context:
Elimination of the $800 de minimis rule: As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. government no longer offers a duty-free exemption for low-value shipments under $800. This means nearly all commercial shipments are now subject to duties, taxes, and full customs clearance procedures.
Country of origin matters: Tariffs are based on where the product was manufactured, not where it was shipped from. If a UK business ships an item made in Thailand the tariff for Thailand applies.
Standard Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) duties: These are the product-specific import taxes that still apply, with rates typically ranging from 2.5% to 6% for common consumer goods. The baseline tariff is added on top of this.
The duty will be different for different items with different countries of origin. The most expensive tariffs are applied to items made in China and India. Most of our items are manufactured in Indonesia, South Korea and Thailand. But some Body Jewellery is made in China and some of our more expensive silver jewellery is made in India.
